A NEW tidbit about the book

I wrote it out of my own weakness, my struggle to believe my own worth. I realized I’d been not only believing lies about my worth, but that those lies had become firmly entrenched, so much so that I lived as if they were true. It’s been an important journey for me, a messy one, but I’m grateful to share with you my own journey toward being joyful in my own skin. I want that for you too.

And now onto today’s testimony: Alyson Dalton Hinkie

I appreciate her honesty:

She writes, “For 3 years, I have been recovering from an shamefully-typical midlife crisis of faith – in God, in myself, and in my entire life. I think it is now safe to say I have survived it, and I have made progress in my ability to believe in my own worth before a loving Heavenly Father. However, I recently had one of those “two-step-backwards” periods. Mary’s book, Worth Living, came along just in the nick of time.

I was astonished at the depth of my need for her words. The chapters, “I am Secure” and “I am Beautiful” made me feel like she was sitting with me on my front porch swing. People around me, especially women, are parched for this truth. This book would be ideal for sharing in a small group setting, as her guided questions would lead to authentic and deep conversations. If you struggle with your worth, please buy this book – and read it with your friends.”

BEAUTIFUL NEWS:

Alyson wrote a song to coincide with this book release, based on the ideas in the book. You can listen to “Release it” here.

That is pretty amazing! When someone writes a song, you know they have truly been moved.

Alyson, thank you for sharing that song. I’m so grateful.

What a beautiful song Alyson! I agree that this would be such a great study for a small group of women; that’s what I plan on doing in June with 4 other women. Mary, I love that God is helping you be more joyful in your skin. It’s something I’m learning too. Some days are easier than others. Bless you both!
