I read this verse today. It encouraged me.

“Since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be destroyed, let us be thankful and please God by worshipping Him with holy fear and awe. For our God is a consuming fire.” Hebrews 12:28-29

All-consuming Fire,
Burn up the part of me that clings to selfishness,
the part that builds my own kingdoms on sandy shores
Help me to offer sacrifices today
of praise, of hope, of joy
Thank You that Your kingdom stands forever
Enthroned upon the Rock
Holy Fire, scathe the dross
Reveal the jewels You are creating within me
Forgive me for forgetting awe
I bow my heart, my life, my will at Your beautiful feet
Amen
