{awesome stuff–intangible or tangible–that you might want}
I’m passionate about helping you live uncaged and free. These are a few of my favorite things (I haven’t been able to find “whiskers on kittens” for sale…sorry).
Bloggy things:
- WordPress.com. Absolutely the best platform there is to wrestle up a blog.
- Woothemes. I love my theme, Daily Edition.
- Author Media. They do all sorts of magical things, like maintain this crazy site, offer {affordable} blogging classes, and offer a free consultation on your bloggification needs.
- Beacon Ads. Click this link to advertise on my site. Or click away and explore how you can use their services for your own ad experience.
Design Coolness:
- Tekeme Studios. They make excellent, amazing book covers. Please let them know I sent you their way.
- 99 Designs. I used them to create the new logo on my site.
- Got Print. This is where I get all my cool biz cards. (Mine are round like a coaster). Amazing prices.
Booky stuff:
- CreateSpace. This is how I published The 11 Secrets of Getting Published, among other books. Really great service, quite affordable.
- All writers have to start somewhere. Don’t despise small beginnings.
- On Writing by Stephen King. Terrific book about writing a novel. When you put it down, you want to sprint to your desk and start your staggering work of genius.
- Checklist: How to know if you’re called to write.
- Bird by Bird by Anne Lamott. She will have you laughing and crying all at once. And when you’re finished with the book, you’ll long to be a better writer.
- The Bestseller Society. Learn how to write, complete, and market your book all in one handy dandy place. To try it on for size, use the coupon code “Writeuncaged” for a free week.
- Publish your ebook in 7 steps. This will walk you through the process, making the complicated quite simple. You can do it! I promise.
- Platform by Michael Hyatt. A really great resource that gives you everything you need to know to build an author platform. Excellent, step by step advice.
- The 11 Secrets of Getting Published by Yours Truly. This is basically everything I know about writing and publishing. You can order it as an ebook too.
Living Uncaged:
- The Rest of God by Mark Buchanan. Wow. If you want your life challenged and utterly turned upside down in the best possible way, read this book.
- Get Past the Past, a 6 session audio healing retreat. This is a series of messages about how you can truly be set free from a difficult past. Affordable and downloadable.
- A Million Miles in a Thousand Years by Donald Miller. Excellent, inspiring book about living a better story.
- Love Has a Face by Michele Perry. An incredible story about a woman who dares to trust God in South Sudan. Utterly scary and amazing. Michele truly lives uncaged.
- The Wounded Heart by Dan Allender. This is the book I most recommend for those healing from sexual abuse. Be sure to purchase the workbook too and write your way through it.
- 7: An Experimental Mutiny Against Excess by Jen Hatmaker. If you want to be set free from the grip of materialism, and you want to be challenged to the core, pick up this book and be changed.
- Live Uncaged, my free ebook about living an uncaged life.
- Changes that Heal by Cloud and Townsend. Probably the most significant book I’ve read that helped me overcome a painful childhood.
- Pioneer Parenting tips. A free PDF to help you parent differently.
- Praying for Strangers by River Jordan. Talk about a book that lit a fire under my behind! So inspirational! Find joy in praying for perfect strangers.
- Thin Places: A Memoir. My book about overcoming a difficult childhood (holding Jesus’ hand, of course).
Monkeys:
- I have a gigantic crush on Mail Chimp. They handle all my newsletters. They’re easy, fun, and simple to navigate.
Productivity:
- The Power of Full Engagement by Loehr and Schwartz. Probably the most important book I’ve read about productivity and balance. Extremely inspirational and convicting.
- Find your passion in three steps. My most popular guest post on Michael Hyatt’s site.
- The Pomodoro Technique. Probably the best system I’ve found in getting things done in an efficient way (and taking breaks so I don’t burn out.)
