Strange Amazon-Fellows

From time to time I check to see how Ordinary Mom, Extraordinary Mom is doing on Amazon in terms of sales ranking. Today I clicked on the statistics to see what that meant. Turns out the book is sandwiched between Quiltskills: Workshops from the Quilters’ Guild Australia, a book that is OUT OF PRINT, and The Collected Stories of Eudora Welty.

Other books similar in sales rankings:

  • The Infinite Book : A Short Guide to the Boundless, Timeless and Endless
  • Travell & Simons’ Myofascial Pain and Dysfunction: The Trigger Point Manual (2-Volume Set)
  • Does Stress Damage the Brain?: Understanding Trauma-Related Disorders from a Neurological Perspective

So, I’m up there with infinity, a book about some medical condition I can’t pronounce, and a book I could probably use about now, knowing all the brain damage endless deadlines does to me!

It’s humbling! Mine is one of over a million books. It’s amazing to me that folks even buy the thing! It’s been great fun to get emails from all over the world from folks who’ve read the book and enjoyed it. Those of you who write authors: thank you! We write in isolation, with what seems like an infinite amount of b.o.c. time (bottom on chair). We contract myofacscial pain from all that wordsmithing, most likely contributing to trauma-related disorders. Your words of encouragement reach through the Amazon statistics and bless, bless, bless!
