Southern France is in the Bible!

Yesterday I was reading in my daily Bible and came across France, or at least what sounded like the countryside of Southern France:

“For the Lord your God is brining you into a good land of flowing streams and pools of water, with springs that gush forth in the valleys and hills. It is a land of wheat and barley, of grapevines, fig trees, pomegranates, olives and honey. It’s a land where food is plentiful and nothing is lacking” (Deuteronomy 8:7-9).

Hey, I thought, that sounds like my new home!

There are many valleys and hills. Grapevines are aplenty. And I saw my first pomegranate tree last summer here in France. We have several olive trees in our yard.

It makes me feel thankful that God has brought our family to such a place. Along with Moses, I can say: “When you have eaten your fill, praise the Lord your God for the good land he has given you” (Deuteronomy 8:10).

Yes, praise the Lord for bringing us to the land flowing with grapes and olives and hills. Praise the Lord.
