I sang it at the top of my lungs today…the song “Resurrection” by Nicol Sponberg. At that link you can listen to the first line of the song. The chorus goes like this:

Here I am at the end
I’m in need of resurrection
Only You can take this empty shell
And raise it from the dead

What I lost to the world
What seems far beyond redemption
You can take the pieces in Your hand
And make me whole again

I first heard the song in Texas on Christian radio. I teared up then, and I still do when I play it on my Ipod. And after my singing stint, the kids have taken to the song and sing it to me throughout the house.

Resurrection. Isn’t that what this life is all about? About Jesus taking the dead parts of us, our lives, our families, our hopes and making something new and beautiful? He is the resurrection. He is my resurrection.

May He raise us all from the dead today.
