Dear Friends,

As we’ve been support raising for this trip, I (Mary) have been reminded of the feeding of the 4,000.

I used to wonder why in the world the disciples would doubt that Jesus could feed 4,000 when just a chapter before, He fed 5000. Now I understand. God fed us in France. Over and over again. His faithfulness was always evident. Yet, as we seek to raise funds to fly to Ghana, I forget His amazing provision. I have a feeling you have experienced this too.

So, today, as you’re reading this letter, would you stop a moment and remember what God has done in your life? How He has provided? Then say a prayer of trust, believing Him to be big enough to provide beautifully for you today.

In the midst of this, the Lord reminded me of Deuteronomy chapter 8. I urge you to read the entire chapter. But these verses stood out:

“You shall remember all the ways which the Lord your God has led you in the wilderness these forty years, that He might humble you, testing you, to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep his commandments or not. He humbled you and let you be hungry, and fed you with manna which you did not know, nor did your fathers know, that He might make you understand that man does not live by bread alone, but man live by everything that proceeds from the mouth of God . . . He led you through the great and terrible wilderness, with its fiery serpents and scorpions and thirsty ground where there was no water; He brought water for you out of the rock of flint.” (Deuteronomy 8: 2, 3, 15).

What beauty! France felt an awful lot like a wilderness to me, but I can rest in the fact that God used that time to test our entire family, to strengthen us in the faith, and to teach us that we live and move and breathe and have our meaning in Him. We live by His words. And now we have the privilege of seeing God produce water in Ghana from a “rock of flint.”

Yesterday we received an email from the folks digging the well in Ghana. Their report said this: “Our characterization of the resistivity values confirms our deductions and so we are positive of a successful well in this second attempt.” Amen! They are very hopeful the second attempt at a well will work! Please pray that it does.

Last week we were at 20%. The Lord saw fit to bring in 5% more this week, so we’re thankful to be at 25% now. We must make our final decision as to how many of us can go by May. (We simply can’t all go if the money doesn’t come in.) We’re resting peacefully in God’s sovereignty in this. He knows who needs to go. He will provide as He sees fit.

How can you pray?

· That those who the Lord prompts will give joyfully.

· That our hearts would be fully prepared to serve.

· For other residual financial stress.

· That this opportunity would change Aidan’s heart forever, that he’d be bent toward the heart of God for the nations and those who are needy.

· That the well would be successful.
