Julia Played School

Julia and I were cleaning her room before school today. She was working on organizing her desk. She said, “Mommy, this is where I play school. I do it all by myself. It’s so fun.”

“I’m so glad,” I told her. I smiled. My dear, sweet girl has thought school a nuisance, a pain, a burden too heavy. To hear that she now played school gave me hope.

“Oh, and Mommy?”

“Yes?”

“I play it all in French,” she said.

Praise be to God.
