Walking through a battle? It’s a joy to pray for Walking through a battle? It’s a joy to pray for you every day! May this prayer sink into your soul.
Jesus, I surrender my stubbornness to you. Oh how Jesus, I surrender my stubbornness to you. Oh how I think I know all the things and all the ways to live this life. Often I sink my heels in, defending myself rather than admit wrongdoing and asking for forgiveness. Help me to be open to new things, to welcome change (even when it scares me), and transform my personal stubbornness into a deep dependance upon you. Search my heart, Lord, and show me the strongholds of stubbornness. Help me to watch other stubborn people and see them as a cautionary tale for myself. Because I know how much stubborn folks hurt others, and I don’t want to be that way. Rescue me today! Amen.
There will be peaches in August. There will be peaches in August.
Jesus, I surrender my self-doubt to you. It feels Jesus, I surrender my self-doubt to you. It feels an awful lot like insecurity. I second guess myself often, and it brings me chaos, not peace. While I know you seek the humble, there’s something different when it comes to self-doubt. Humility is knowing who I am and asking you for help. But self-doubt compels me inward, seeking myself as a solution. Lord, take all those roiling doubts and help me surrender them to you. May it be that I run to you for help, strength, bravery, and hope. You are bigger than my doubt, wiser than my second-guessing, and stronger than my insecurity. Hold me close. Teach me dependence. And rescue me from myself. Amen.
