God is good

Feb 10, 2006Heal from the past

Thank you to so many of you who encouraged me yesterday during my homesickness! I really needed that. Please know I am thankful to be living in France, but there are days when homesickness hits, blindsiding me.

But today I wake up to another beautiful sunny Southern France day. I got to sleep in a bit. I’m ready to climb onto my stairmaster and sweat out my stress. The kids come home for lunch–a very sweet time. And after that my friend Kate offered to give me a massage! So, life is good.

This verse is sitting open to me today:

“Therefore since we have a great high priest who has gone through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are–yet was without sin. Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in time of need” (Hebrews 4:14-16).

I love those verses. Jesus walked the dusty earth, experiencing homesickness for HEAVEN. Imagine that! Imagine leaving the PERFECT PLACE to come to earth, knowing that on earth you’d be ridiculed, misunderstood and killed. I can imagine Jesus was homesick. So He understands when I am. And now I can climb up onto that throne of grace and receive free mercy and amazing grace whenever I need it. Thank You Jesus!
