Flower Funeral

Today at dinner, Aidan asked Julia, “How was your flower funeral? Heartbreaking?”

“Yes, it was sad,” she said.

“Yeah, but Julia, it doesn’t really matter, does it? I mean, there are lots of red flowers in the world,” Aidan said.

“Not exactly like this one,” she said.

It reminded me of the brevity of life and the uniqueness of each of us.

God sees us all. He loves us. He created us uniquely different. “I love you,” He says to us, “you are not exactly like the rest. And I like that about you.”
