Decay is Beautiful

I picked up these two leaves on my run today. Aren’t they lovely? One flush with color, the other see-through, nearly like lace.
It’s a reminder of us, I think. How even as we decay, fail, break down, God makes something beautiful out of us. The holes in our lives become windows to see His light poke through. And even as we feel the dross of decay, we can rejoice that when winter comes to our souls and things seem dead, spring will come, nubile green, giving us that blessed taste of resurrection.
