The past few years, I’ve created an art piece every day during Lent. It was my way of creatively focusing on Jesus in the days up until Easter. My husband and I host a Seder meal at the culmination of our collective Lenten journeys, and it’s full of rich imagery and amazing fellowship.
Originally I was going to do the exact same thing this year, adding to my collection of small art pieces like these:
This year I sensed that God wanted me to open myself up to several creative avenues, so instead of limiting myself to painting, I’ll be seeking the Spirit for whatever He prompts each day. It might be art like this, or maybe I’ll write a song, take a picture, try a recipe, or find beauty outside. It now feels more like an exploratory adventure rather than a rote practice. I look forward to sharing how this will inform my relationship with Jesus and deepen my walk.
