Your job is to love me

Oct 24, 2010Find joy today, Heal from the past, Kingdom Uncaged, Write!

At communion tonight at the close of the Cape Town 2010 congress, I again gave my writing career/ministry to Jesus. I told Him to take it all, to do what He wanted, to receive it as an offering.

He reminded me, “Your job is to love Me.”

And then He whispered this verse to me: “However, as it is written: ‘No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him'” (1 Corinthians 2:9).

We ended the congress as we started, singing Crown Him with Many Crowns. I can’t describe it. But I meant the words with everything in me. I want my life to crown Him. Not to crown my achievements, or work toward recognition. Not to follow hard after reputation, but to live in such a way to make Him famous. Not to point to my writing, but to live and obey His writing. Not to be consumed with my job, but to be consumed by loving Him.

Lord Jesus, take my words and let them be consecrated Lord, to Thee.

I leave this congress a changed, renewed, revived girl. And for that I praise Jesus, and humbly thank the worldwide body of Jesus Christ who loved me so well here. Amen and amen.
