2-15 – Tracy Higley

Jan 2, 2017Restory Show

Tracy Higley is a business owner, novelist, and an all-around thinker and inspirational person. She’s actually one of my favorite people. I relate to her on several levels, and she has been someone in my life who has helped me rethink the way I look at life. This episode is especially sweet because it comes during the time of year where we’re all thinking about what’s next.

How Our Stories Intersected

Tracy and I have been friends several years because we are both novelists and have run into each other at several conferences. She and I are also part of a mastermind group together. In this episode she shares how she had a breakdown one Christmas, went to Cancun alone, and came through on the other side more thoughtful and determined to live a life of impact.

As in all my episodes, I pray for you at the end. It’s my sincere hope that you’ll walk away from the Restory Show changed and challenged.

Thanks for this Mary. Although I do not have a ‘driven’ personality like Tracy and do not have her gifts, I have learned much from her insight here today. I can certainly put her advice to good use in my life.
    Bless you both!

      I’m grateful for that!

Glad you enjoyed the podcast, Susan. No matter how ‘driven’ we are, it’s always a good reminder where to look for our identity, right?

Thanks for this one. I rarely get to listen to the podcasts because I’m often on the phone with work. This one was tailor-made for me. I’m not a type-A personality, but I am too busy for anyone’s own good. And often don’t know how to handle it. The part of the conversation about not being able to fit into the ‘church side’ of using your gifts is always interesting to me. Since I’m a United Methodist, I have not experienced that issue in the two churches I’ve been a part of. Often we are all encouraged to start up a ministry if we feel like God is leading. Of course, THAT’s when you really need a mentor or someone to guide. Lots of good ideas don’t even make it to the table because we feel like we are inadequate or too busy. Hurdles to continue jumping, mostly made by our own selves! Thank you for sharing!

I agree. I think we all need mentors to help us make some of these complicated decisions!

Ah, how well I know that challenge of sorting through good ideas! Keep strategizing, to get unshackled enough to use your gifts effectively!
