It’s true. You can do everything.

May 10, 2011Family Uncaged, Find joy today, Work Uncaged

Well, let me clarify.

I’ve lately felt like I can do NOTHING.

But with the help of Jesus, I can do all things.

Which is why I put this cool Dayspring sign next to my monitor. Monday’s post detailed my own struggle in my career. Yet, with the power of the Holy Spirit invigorating me, I can do all things.

Even my son, who just learned to drive on the freeway, can do all things through Christ who strengthens him.

And what about gardening? In the heat of Texas where my resolve melts with the sun, I can even garden with His strength:

How about walking? Walking seems quite pedestrian, but when you equate it with walking with Jesus, even there I fail to do so in my own small strength. But with Christ, He enables to walk alongside Him. He bears my burdens. He holds my hand. He lifts me on the heights. He is that capable:

How about decorating/homekeeping? Can I do that in my strength? Probably sometimes. But it’s not infused with deep joy or hope or purpose. Yes, through Christ I can make my home a place of refuge, so my family exemplifies this verse, the theme for Dayspring this month:Joshua 24:15, “But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.”

Can you tell I love this sign?

Would you like to win it (or something similar) too? Simply post a comment about what Jesus gives you strength to do to be entered to win a $50 certificate to use in the Dayspring store.
