Move from Brokenhearted to Openhearted – 35

Nov 24, 2014Uncaged Podcast

The Gist:

God’s heart is that we live openhearted on this earth. To do so, let’s live OPEN.

Occupy Life. What wounds is what heals.

Pray! The Lord’s prayer begins with “Pray Like This.” Our first response should be to pray about the offense. Not hash it over and over again and stuff it. Not tell it to others so they can hear your one-sided story.

Enlarge your view of God. (He is big. People are small). Don’t make idols of people

Narrate a new story. Be a person of forgiveness. Nix bitterness. Leave room for reconciliation.

Scriptures:

“Whoever isolates himself seeks his own desire; he breaks out against all sound judgment. Proverbs 18:1 ESV

Think constantly of him enduring all that sinful men could say against him and you will not lose your purpose or your courage. Hebrews 12:3 Phillips

Galatians 1:10 Obviously, I’m not trying to win the approval of people, but of God. If pleasing people were my goal, I would not be Christ’s servant.

John 2:23-25 23 Because of the miraculous signs Jesus did in Jerusalem at the Passover celebration, many began to trust in him. 24 But Jesus didn’t trust them, because he knew human nature. 25 No one needed to tell him what mankind is really like.

Romans 12:18: “If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.”

Quotes:

“There’s a difference between a fence and a fortress.” Mary DeMuth

Our task shouldn’t be punishing the villains in our lives, but enlarging the God who heals us from all wounds.” Mary DeMuth

“Every experience God gives us, every person he puts in our lives, is the perfect preparation for the future that only He can see.” Corie Ten Boom
