rejuvenation need

5 Comments 06 June 2006

I write poetry when I’m sad or tired. I’m not sad, but I am tired. So here’s a tired poem du jour:

Raising my head is too much an effort
Until You lift my chin
And I gaze into Your life
Taking step upon step is tiresome
Until You pad my feet
With grace underneath
Listening to others’ pain excruciates
Until I understand Your own,
Your ability to shoulder many griefs
Holding wounds others inflicted stifles
Until I see the wounds I carved
Into your hands with selfishness
Releasing weariness seems improbable
Until I hear Your watering voice
Refreshing my languished heart

It’s always a joy to do something for the Lord and to listen to those in needs, to write comments, post messages as there is nothing more beautiful than to be available for our Lord and the little or big we can do always mean a lot to our God. Of course on top of that there are chores to do at home, errands to run at times. I’m also in the middle of fixing my travel papers for the Philippines only for a month. I have lost my Australian citizenship certificate and I need to apply to get the evidence of my citizenship in order for me to get a new passport in my new married name as my old passport is still in my widow name, things are getting into shape, papers are now under process… however I also need some rest sometimes as I’m physically tired, needing a good a sleep. Thank you… for your encouraging words are always such a blessing and an inspiration to me and to all of us. I appreciate your prayers. Thank you Holley!

I love these lines and can also relate:”Releasing weariness seems improbableUntil I hear Your watering voiceRefreshing my languished heart”Looking at our summer garden is like my spiritual life — without the water of Christ’s refreshing spirit, I’m dry and withered — unable to offer fruit to anyone. It’s so true that God’s voice can refresh our weary souls. Thanks for writing this beautiful poem! I pray He will rejuvenate you this week. :)

I’m sad you’re tired, but love the poem that came out of it! Thank you for expressing it so well.
